Blue Lotuses In Blue Envelopes
if I live for hundred years more
my diamond pen will move on
if I live for fifty years more
my golden pen will move on
if I live for Twenty Five years more
my silver pen will move on
if I live for Ten years more
my copper pen will move on
if I live for five years more
my nickel pen will move on
if I live for five days more
my blood pen will move on
if I live for a day more
my invisible pen will keep on moving….
DAILY RATION
What were you thinking
When you sipped from the unknown glass?
Poison of the dhotora tree or honey from the mohua flower?
You did never take the time to judge this
Although you heard with your own ears
The utterance of divorce three times
Bui there were no witness present
No one could have said anything
The life you were leading with this inhuman person
For so many decades
When he did not think twice
In this parched Chaitra period
How you will derive your daily ration
How will you pass your body’s lonely years?
Why did you not leave that animal
And come to my home and heart?
May be I could not have given you a golden nose ring
Silver anklets and red glass bangles
Or to cover your bare body
A new saree at every new moon and Eid
But I could have given you for certain
A clay platter of hot rice every morning
And curry made from fresh new beans
And every night
Waves of love like the waters of the sea
